Dear Sallie,

Question: Where does someone drive to, order from or have delivered "Finding Happiness"?  I haven't found it as a place in the white books, can't order it on the internet and I don't dare have it delivered for fear of what might show up. So what then is the mystery in "finding happiness?" It cannot be touched, smelled, seen, heard or tasted. Ok, so what is it? Here's my take on the subject.

Rule 1. Happiness is not a physical place, another person or thing

Rule 2. Happiness is an YOUR inner emotion

Rule 3. You can't FIND happiness before you are happy within your own skin first.

Rule 4. Happiness does not grow on trees, you grow happiness from within.

Rule 5. Happiness is a state of being with bumps and curves in the road.

Rule 6. Happiness has a second cousin named Contentment.

For me it's remembering the "good" from my past, living fully in the present and building on what inspires me for the future. Accepting all the bumps along the way is not for the faint at heart, but lessons to be learned. For if those roads and pathways were smooth and manicured, would you have "found" happiness?

If so, share the GPS location with the rest of us.

The Six SECRETS To A Happy Retirement, How To Master the Transition of a Lifetime

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a comprehensive work on living well in retirement, March 27, 2013

Too many books about retirement are "nuts & bolts" -- lots of data. Yes, that's helpful, but I've never seen a book that takes into account the qualitative issues the way "The Six Secrets to a Happy Retirement" does. This book offers whole new ways of thinking about retirement -- and that's sorely needed. Love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars - Excellent retirement resource! March 28, 2013

I have been in the financial business, and working in retirement for many years and have always thought there was a lack of good information to really prepare someone for retirement. It's not just about saving enough, it's about trying to live WELL in retirement. Mark has compiled information from a number of experts to help you do just that. I thought I knew a lot, but I couldn't believe the new information I learned going through this book. If you want your retirement to be a happy one, no matter what your age, this book is for you.

[Sallie's] ideas on organization, and particularly on taking things one very small piece at a time, have been helpful daily." -Deborah A
